Roltair"s Illusion is or was(it was banned from Church Carnivals in l968) a rather morbid illusion act performed on stage. a Very attractive Girl is displayed lying in a coffin in formal evening gown, usually the magic proceed lights go down, music, et, and when the scene changes the casket is opened-the girl is vanished and the box is full of flowers and bouquets, then the lid is closed again, the magic patter repeated, and this time the girl returns alive and unharmed-smoke generators and ultra violet strobe lights were used in the transformation sequence. named after the frenc Magician Henri Roltair who died in the teens. It was seen as an obvious parody on the Assumption hence the ban in the archdiocese of Newark!
