How is life on earth dependent on the sun energy?

Life on Earth is dependent on the sun's energy because it provides warmth for temperature regulation, drives photosynthesis in plants which is the basis of the food chain, and influences weather patterns and climate. Without the sun's energy, life as it exists on Earth would not be sustainable.
