Why did Sully Sullenberger save the passengers?

Because a flock of birds flew right into his aircraft engine and he lost power, he did not have enough time to return to the airport so he made a decision. He successfully landed in the Hudson river perfectly and he have rescued more than 150 passengers onboard the aircraft with no passengers getting hurt.
