What is is the difference between two-columned cash book and the three -columned cash book?

In two column cash book we have only two columns of discount and cash but in three column cash book we have three column of discount,cash and bank.

when we are making three column cash book we don't need to make bank account but in the situation of 2column cash book we have to make bank account seprately.
