"No, Red Bull's stimulant effects come from caffeine, just like coffee, plus possibly the high sugar content. The rest of the ingredients are basically just vitamins and nutrients. Caffeine is a very different type of drug to amphetamine, both chemically and in how it causes its stimulant effect, so there's no reason that the caffeine from Red Bull (or coffee) would show up as amphetamine in a drug test."

Yes - I have always been drug tested before site work due to my high risk profession and I once failed a test and they were going to refuse entry to the site.
I never drink coffee or tea or any caffeine products but this morning someone bought me a 'posh' coffee from the petrol station (latte type with high caffeine content) and I drank it.
1hr later I gave a urine sample and they used an onsite system putting drops of urine on the 4 strips which tested for different drugs. One of the strips turned a bright purple indicating that I have meth-anphetamine in my urine. I explained that's impossible and through a prolonged argument they sent the rest of my urine sample off to the lab to get tested. It was clean and contained no meth-anphetamine. The lab technician explained that the onsite test kits didn't actually look for the drug, that would be too expensive, but rather they look for the body's reaction to the drug. So I answer this question as yes you may fail a drugs test but not because any of the drugs are illegal but a false reading could show as the test kits are quite rubbish. I couldn't help but wonder how many people in the world have lost their jobs due to a false reading and have been 'labelled' without listening to their defence!

We used to joke about poppy seeds on bread until we watched Mythbuster! They prove that you will test positive for opiates (heroin etc) if you eat Sandwiches with poppy seeds on the bread!
