What is the best automatic rifle?

"Best" is a very subjective term. In situations which might be ideal for one rifle, they may prove less than ideal for another. Several rifles have had very distinct careers - the AR-15 family of rifles, the Kalashnikov family of rifles, Heckler & Koch's rifles, the FN-FAL, etc. Each one has their strong points and weak points.
