Yes you do, since July 1st 2009. They also have to be registered, and sport a licence plate. The driver needs a class 5 or 7, the scooter has to be less than 50 cc, the seat less than 650 mm high, and can't go faster than 70 km. These changes are crazy - but now the regs are in line with the rest of Canada. This also allows for e-bikes on the road with only a Class 5 or 7.
