What is the theme of Shadow of the dragon?

The purpose of the book was to tell people a story from an immigrant's view. The lesson I learned is that all people are different in different ways. Some people might have one way of doing something, such as a culture, or may do something a traditional way. I think the theme is also Chinese culture. I think this because in the beginning of the book, it told me a lot about the way they dressed, what they ate, how they grew up, and what they did during the day. I think this story can have many different themes but these two were the ones most shown in the book.
