Thomas H. Seymour (born September 29, 1807 in Hartford, Connecticut; died September 3, 1868 in Hartford, Connecticut) succeeded Joseph Trumbull as the twenty-first Governor of Connecticut, serving between May 4, 1850 and October 13, 1853. Following the end of Seymour's term as Governor, Charles H. Pond (born April 26, 1781 in Milford, Connecticut; died April 28, 1861 in Milford, Connecticut) became the twenty-second Governor of Connecticut, serving between October 13, 1853 and May 3, 1854.
