Wax, sugar, laser, electrolysis, Nair. I suggest Nair.... it just dissolves the hair. But it'll keep coming back.
Shaving as well as using a dipilatory (such as Nair) removes the hair down to the skin surface. As this may be unwanted and also can be uncomfortable as the hair regrows, a milder and equally inexpensive suggestion is to trim the hair. As longer hair tends to criss-cross and mat, then excessive hair can look "thinner" simply by trimming the hair down to a minimal length. Using an electric hair trimmer oftens used for hair cuts or those for trimming beards, one may trim down the hair on arms and legs (and backs, etc) to a shorter length (about a 1/4 inch). This enables a natural look of a man's hairy body without seeming excessive, and gives a thinning appearance, without the bristle of and "shave" bumps that shaving and even cremes can give on regrowth.
