Why di God extend Hezekiah's life?

God extended Hezekiah's life in response to his prayer and repentance. Hezekiah pleaded with God for healing and deliverance from his illness, and God granted his request out of compassion and mercy. This extension of life also served to fulfill God's promise to Hezekiah of fifteen more years.
