Does ice help coldsores

It does not help coldsores. In fact the other day some lady at the pharmacy counter said that ice helps but yet it didnt help. So when I got home I put ice on my lip. The next morning it got bigger. So do not use ice. Ever. Abreva works but only if you feel one starting to come on. But that's what she said.
