Why is it that Plato quoted so often?

Plato was a very influential classical Greek philosopher and mathematician, student of Socrates, and mentor of Aristotle. Plato wrote about numerous subjects, including philosophy, logic, ethics, rhetoric, and mathematics, and is considered one of the most important founding figures in Western philosophy and science.
