Where was Thomas Edison working when he injured his ear?

He was working for the railroad as a boy of 15 or so. He was running for the train with his arms full, and his boss reached down and grabbed his ears and hauled him up into the caboose. He was deaf, or nearly deaf, in that ear for the remainder of his life.
