How do you be nice with out making someone think you want to chat?

It's a secret Word 'listen!' If someone wants to chat with you and you aren't in the mood then just listen and smile once in awhile. Then make an excuse that you have an appointment to go to. Remember, sometimes you'll chat and perhaps the person at the other end may not feel like chatting, so be polite and just listen.
