Why are DVDs not important?

DVDs are important and movies still support it, but more movies are starting to support HD DVDs or Blu-Ray Discs, the difference between them is that normal DVDs can store up to probably 5GB of space while HD DVDs or Blue-Ray Discs can support HD Music, Games, Movies, Videos etc. and stores about 10GB of space
