At birth, a baby African bull elephant typically weighs between 200 to 250 pounds (90 to 113 kilograms) and stands about 3 feet (0.9 meters) tall at the shoulder. They are one of the largest newborns in the animal kingdom. Despite their size, they are still vulnerable and rely heavily on their mothers and the herd for protection and care during the early stages of life.
