The Maritime Archaic people are not present as a distinct cultural group today, as they existed thousands of years ago in the northeastern North America region. Their descendants may be linked to later Indigenous groups, such as the Innu and Mi'kmaq, but the Maritime Archaic culture itself, characterized by specific burial practices and tool-making techniques, has long since disappeared. Archaeological evidence of their existence continues to be studied, providing insight into their way of life.
