HEDP is an abbreviation for 1-Hydroxy Ethylidene-1,1-Diphosphonic Acid, Etidronic Acid.

ATMP is an abbreviation for Amino Tri(Methylene Phosphonic Acid), Nitrilotrimethylphosphonic Acid(NTP)

HEDP is used as scale and corrosion inhibition in circulating cool water system, oil field and low-pressure boilers in fields such as electric power, chemical industry, Metallurgy, fertilizer, etc.. In light woven industry, HEDP is used as detergent for metal and nonmetal. In dyeing industry, HEDP is used as peroxide stabilizer and dye-fixing agent; In non-cyanide electroplating, HEDP is used as chelating agent.

ATMP is used in industrial circulating cool water system and oilfield water pipeline in fields of thermal power plant and oil refinery plant. ATMPcan decrease scale formation and inhibit corrosion of metal equipment and pipeline. ATMP can be used as chelating agent in woven and dyeing industries and as metal surface treatment agent.

HEDP had better synergistic effect with other polymers or chemicals comparing with ATMP.
