Was the prophet Daniel in the Bible castrated?

Daniel 1:9-12 refers to officers of Babylon who were placed in charge of Daniel and other male Hebrew captives. These officers were mentioned as being in charge of the Eunuchs. The question remains as to whether this was directly a part of these duties or that this was an additional duty as well as them being in charge of the Eunuchs. Since there is no reference to Daniel himself being a Eunuch it would seem that this was probably an additional duty, although the question must remain somewhat open.
