Is there a central bureau for CRB checks?

CRB stands for Criminal Records Bureau which has since been replaced by the Disclosure and Barring Service and is the central bureau for England and Wales.

There is no world wide bureau for criminal record checks as countries all have different laws, justice systems, recording methods and levels of cooperation with external agencies.
