How do Catholics use water in their worship?

Holy water is also used to bless objects, people and is used in exorcisms.

Water that is used for baptisms is consecrated water, having had holy chrism added to it at Easter. Baptismal water is usually stored in a baptistry or a baptismal font.

Catholics also have Easter water, this is water that is blessed at Easter but does not have holy chrism added to it. It is used in private devotions by the faithful.

In many Church approved Catholic pilgrimage sites there are streams and brooks that are considered to contain miraculous powers of healing. Catholics often take this water and either drink it or apply it to injuries in the hope of cures or graces. ---- Catholics do not worship water. They do use water for their services and rituals, though. They call it 'Holy Water', which usually comes from the water faucet in the sacristy although absolutely any clean water can be used. A priest says a prayer of blessing over the water, either while its in a container or in the 'Holy Water Font' and then the water is considered 'holy'. Worshipers dip their fingers into the 'Holy Water Font' before making the Sign of the Cross when entering or leaving a Church.
