Why has the power steering on your 1.7 dti astra gone heavy after the altanator failed?

If the alternator was recently replaced on an Astra DTI 1.7, then there is a good chance that the Power Steering pump is not working properly because the serpentine belt is too loose or too tight. Check the belt and either tighten or loosen the tension pulley.
