Can you change your characters appearance in final fantasy XIV online?

As of right now (July 26, 2011) you can NOT change your appearance in Final Fantasy XIV. Reading up on different websites I have seen and heard that SE has told us they will be implementing it into the game, but have done nothing so far. I hope they do it soon because I have a high character and am looking to change his hair style/color!

I understand that the SE team has a lot on their plate right now but how long would it seriously take to place a barber in Eorzea? Sounds like a one person job to me!
