How do you change the headlight bulb on a 2004 Ford Mustang?

When you open the hood, there are 2 black "rods" that go straight down into the rear of the headlight assembly. They have a small bend that lays flat on the wall behind the headlights. Pull both of these straight up and out, the full headlight assembly will now be able to pull straight out. Simply disconnect both wire assemblies by carefully pushing the tab releases, and then you twist a black outer ring around the headlight bulb and pull away from the assembly. Remember to not touch the bulb itself, and follow any new bulb's directions for cleaning if you accidently do touch it. Replace this assembly the same way. Insert the bulb and twist the black outer ring to lock it in, and reconnect wiring, slide the assembly back in, and insert the 2 metal retainers.
