When were Yamaha dirt bikes invented?

After two years of tough secret testing in both the US and the Australian outback, Yamaha released the DT1 to the world at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 1967. The little white bike was totally unlike any other motorcycle and quickly stole the hearts and imaginations of motorcycle lovers the world over.
