What is the procedure for correcting the address in the passport?

Locate the nearest India passport office. There are almost two dozen Indian passport agencies covering the country. These offices can be located by using the Government of Indian Ministry of External Affairs website.

Obtain a change of address form. This form can either be obtained through one of the passport offices operating in India, or through the website for the Government of Indian Ministry of External Affairs. You will need to get "form 2" to complete the change of address.

Complete "form 2" by entering your personal information. This will include your name, previous address and the new address. You will also need to complete the attached questionnaire.

Return to the local passport office with the completed form and proof of your new address. The staff will be able to complete your request and process a new passport for you.
