Yes. The European Union is considering banning Tea Tree Oil sales in all its member nations because of a high number of sever adverse reactions. Problems include: 1) Nerve damage (if taken in ears or nose or in deep wounds. Or if taken by mouth and swallowed). 2) Severe skin reactions 3) Triggering of drug-resistant infections. 4) Triggering of rare inflammatory skin diseases. 5) Derangement of endocrine system. The link doesn't work, this is not surprising because it is likely to date back to 2007. This is when the now largely discredited work of a researcher called Henley and his colleagues was sensationalized in the world media - his claim that tea tree and lavender oils cause breast development in young boys (gynecomastia) is extremely unlikely; TTO was only found in one of the 3 products and lavender has been exonerated.
