How do you Reset 3 digit combination on Austin house lock?

this works when you know the combination. if you don't know it, then you are up a creek without a paddle.

step 1. open lock using current combination.
step 2. spin the shackle (the u shaped piece which clicks into the lock case) 90 degrees to the case. there should be a little bump in the shackle which will line up with a groove in the top of the case. this only works on one side so check to see where the groove is.
step 3. push and hold the shackle down as if you were closing it.
step 4. change the combination.
step 5. pull the shackle up and use the lock with its new combination.
