Why does flood come?

Floods can occur due to heavy rainfall, rising river waters, snowmelt, storm surges, or dam failures. When the amount of water exceeds the land's capacity to absorb it or when natural or man-made obstructions occur, flooding can happen. Climate change may also contribute to more frequent and severe flooding events.
