Mazda 626 LX 4 Cylinder specifically, but this should work on all similar models. Remove the battery cable COMPLETLY. Loosen large inlet and outlet hose clamps and 2 13mm OD nuts and 1 bolt on the air clearner housing. Disconnet both air and temperature sensors from that housing. Set it aside. Turn wheels fully to left and jack up the car on the passenger side and block (wheels to). The starter motor is located 'neath the intake manifold (that spider looking thing on the back of top of the engine. Use swivel adapter or socket, 14mm to remove the top 2 bolts. Ensure you remove the bolts as the wire harness is held in place by the back one. The bolt go through the transaxle and thread into the starter. Slide underneath from front and remove the 2 14mm bolts on the bracket directly behind the starter motor. Remove the last starter bolt, easiest using a 30 inch 3/8 drive extension through the passenger side suspension. If you have the extension, you can remove the starter motor terminal nut (14mm) and slide off the loop lug. Reach up over the motor housing as you remove it to squeeze and remove the solenoid connector clip. If you don't have the cool extension and can't put a bunch of shorties together, pull the starter back and face the back down to remove the heavy wire lug. If you can't do it with these directions, you are a rock and should pay. Jim
