Okay, so they all got letters from people they had known in the past, that asked them to come to Indian Island for one reason or another. They were either very discreet and short, or just illegible. But, they all met up and took the boat over to Indian Island, boat was driven by Fred Narcott, yes.

People on the island were told to ignore all signs of help from the island because they were playing a survival game on the island which is why no one came to save them or bring them food.

People were finally suspicous. A group of boy scouts had seen SOS signals and told the police. They went out to investigate and found a house full of dead people.
