What do defibulaters that are incereted in your chest look like?

Implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) are small, rectangular devices typically about the size of a small smartphone. They are usually placed under the skin in the upper chest, just below the collarbone. The device has wires (leads) that are connected to the heart to monitor its rhythm and deliver shocks if necessary. The surface of the ICD is usually smooth, and it may have a small bump where it sits beneath the skin.
