What is a jeroboam?

Jeroboam refers to the actual bottle wine is placed in. They are typically glass, and can range from .18 liters to 30 liters. Each size has a specific name, and the largest bottles are named after Biblical kings. They typically use green bottles, but use a wide range of colors. Some argue that the green helps keep the wine tasting more fresh, and discourages an off-taste. However, others argue that if the wine is kept at a proper temperature, it does not matter what color the bottle (Jeroboam) is.
