Why is interface known as the resting stage and misleading?

However, this term can be misleading because, at the interface, dynamic processes such as molecular interactions, adsorption, and diffusion are actively taking place, leading to significant changes at the microscopic level. Thus, while it appears stable, the interface is actually a site of ongoing activity and transformation.
