Is there a tree with black bark?

Yes; Ebony is very hard lustrous black wood that comes from a number of trees in the Ebony family. Lesser known is the African Blackwood (Grenadilla), but this is not always black, ranging in colour from a dark reddish colour to pure black.

The black timber comes from the inside of the trees, the bark being a lighter colour.
