When did Queen Victoria leave Kensington?

Queen Victoria left Kensington Palace in 1837 when she became queen following the death of her uncle, King William IV. She moved to Buckingham Palace, which became her primary residence. Kensington Palace, where she had spent much of her childhood, remained a royal residence but was no longer her home after her accession to the throne.
