Who would have had full political rights in Ancient Athens?

In Ancient Athens, full political rights were granted exclusively to adult male citizens who had completed their military training and were born to Athenian parents. This excluded women, slaves, and foreign residents (metics), who did not possess the same rights and privileges. Only these male citizens could participate in the Assembly, vote on legislation, and hold public office, reflecting the democratic ideals of the city while simultaneously enforcing a system of exclusion for others.
