Will a chicken quit laying if they lose their feathers?

This is called molt and it can actually happen any time of year. It is triggered by the age and nutritional health of the chicken not by the season. Chickens in an enclosed structure (Barns) with regulated temperatures molt also. It is the time for the renewal of old feathers.
