Rocks are a good choice. * If you are in a group don't scatter. This is the lion's first objective - to separate out the weakest member. Yell, scream, throw things at it. Open up your coat and try to make yourself appear bigger. * If the lion does attack - do fight back.

* Most people around here carry a knife in the woods - one that is already open (not a switch-blade) an is easily and quickly drawn. Lions have been killed this way. * Bear bombs (pepper spray) is commercially available round here too.
