In the tundra, transportation is primarily facilitated by snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), and sled dogs due to the challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions. Seasonal ice roads are also constructed over frozen rivers and lakes to facilitate the movement of goods and people. In some areas, small aircraft may be used for longer distances, particularly in remote locations where traditional roads are absent.
