The FIRST thing you must do is to relieve the pressure in the fuel line, by one of 2 ways, or else you're going to get a small spray of gas on you while you're under the car. But before you release the pressure, you might want to spray plenty of WD-40 around the connections to the fuel filter. On my '99 GP GT it's under the car, where the back-seat, driver's side person would sit. Ok - back to the fuel pressure issue. #1) In the fuse box / panel, find the fuel pump fuse. Start the car, and pull the fuse. The engine will die from lack of fuel pressure. #2) Find the schrader valve in the fuel line under the hood. Have a towel ready for when you push the shrader in - it's like letting air out of your tires. Now that the pressure is gone, and using two flared nut wrenches, one to hold the filter's nut and the other to turn the fuel line's nut. They loosen left-loosey, righty-tighty.
