How do plants take in and give gas?

Plants take in carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere through small openings called stomata, primarily located on the undersides of their leaves. During photosynthesis, they use sunlight to convert CO2 and water into glucose and oxygen. The oxygen produced is then released back into the atmosphere through the same stomata. This process not only provides energy for the plant but also contributes to the Earth's oxygen supply.
