There is no modern day population of Ephesus, Turkey. In 614 CE the was partially destroyed by an earthquake and was never rebuilt, but the ruins are a favorite tourist stop.
The nearby Turkish city of Selçuk (<3 kilometers from Ephesus) has 28,000 people within the city limits and 34,000 in the metropolitan area.
