What is the Lou Henry Hoover nature sanctuary?

Nature sanctuaries were created when, president Herbert Hoover's wife, Lou Henry Hoover wanted people to experience the outdoors. These sanctuareis started in 1945 and vary in size and place. Some are as elaborate as guided tours wile others are walk-threws with identified plants.
