In southeastern PA, the cost of installing porcelain tile should begin around $4.00 per square foot. This price represents a basic installation of simple 12 X 12 tile over a smooth, flat concrete surface. Upgrades would include a large format tile (larger than 12 X 12), a patterned installation, or any special considerations such as expansion joints and transitions. If the tile is being installed over a plywood sub-floor, an approved cement or fiber-cement based subfloor must be installed prior to the installation of the tile.
