Before you change out the shaft of your champ, you are going to want to have a exacto knife, needle nose pliers, a new prop shaft with or without the gear attached, and a new prop. First cut the tap holding the fuselage to the wings, then gently hold the clear end piece with the pliers toward the center of the motor, and turn the shaft clockwise while holding that. The shaft should be disconnected from the motor, but trapped by styrofoam. So, take your exacto knife and make a big enough gap for the shaft and gear to get out. Then take your new prop-shaft and gear, and if the gear came on the shaft just pull it off, and put super glue where the gear was (On the straight threads under a little nub on the propeller) and slide the gear on. Let Dry. Then thread your new propeller, flat part of threads toward the gear. then take your completed shaft and place it back into the motor. Take your new or old end cap and twist it back on the end of the shaft. Re-tap the fuselage and you are ready to go!
