Is it true or false that acids will turn litmus paper red?

TRUE!!!!

Litmus will turn BLUE in alkali.

However, Litmus paper is a rather unsophisicated methof testing for acids/alkalis.

Universal Indicatort will give a range of colours

Red, orange, yellow, green , blue, purple indigo. for strong acid (red) through neutral (green) , to strong alkali (Indigo). It is more sensative to acid /alkali strength.
