What are the three major forms of government?

• Autocracy: rule by a single person.
• Democracy: leadership appointed by representation of the region.
• Oligarchy: rule by a select and elite group.

All forms of government used on earth fall under one of these three groups - for example, monarchies and dictatorships are both a form of autocracy. It should be noted that anarchy is by definition not a form of government
