What are the laboratory values to be monitored by a nurse when a patient is on TPN?

Labs are suggested at certain intervals depending on how long a patient has been on the TPN but in general:

Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP): includes, sodium, potassium, bicarbonate, chloride, BUN, creatinine, glucose, calcium, albumin, total protein, ALP, ALT, AST, bilirubin.

Magnesium

Phosphate

Pre-albumin

Triglycerides
